Kefalovrysso
The historic site of Kefalovrysso is located southwest of Karpenisi close to three kilometers from the city center. The historicity lies in a well-known battle that took place there in August 1823 during the Liberating War from the Ottoman Empire. Apart from its historic background, the site of Kefalovrysso is a picturesque scenery where the visitors can take a walk within the woods, walk by an incredible river, drink fresh water from local springs coming directly from the highest peaks of Karpenisi, visit the local herbal garden and check out the little pond with ducks. There is a also a coffee shop and an extraordinary place where trouts are being raised in the local river. Notably, the diameter of the pond is only a few meters but its waters are renewed by natural flow from the source region.
The site of Kevelovrysso offers an exciting opportunity to the friends of nature and music to perform outdoors by the river side and feel the energy coming from the local springs of the area. Participation to this event is optional and possible only if an adequate number of choirs requests to perform at this site.
